GO Bonds are a type of municipal bond that allows local governments, such as the City of Lauderhill, to borrow money for major public projects and repay the debt over time. GO Bonds allow residents to enjoy improvements immediately and help avoid the higher price tag that can come with inflation and construction cost increases. This approach helps deliver benefits sooner, avoids delaying important projects, and supports long- term planning rather than catching up later. No, the tax rate will not increase. The bond is structured so we can make these investments without increasing the tax rate. As older City debt retires, those dollars are put back to work to fund today’s improvements. Individual tax bills are influenced by property values, which are set by the market, not by the bond itself. The City’s tax rate was 1.1212 at the time the bond was approved, and implementation of the bond will not increase that tax rate.

Projects were informed by community input, resident feedback, and City planning efforts to ensure investments align with local needs and priorities.

RISE Lauderhill includes investments in a new Public Safety building and fire station renovations. Citywide safety improvements help support faster response times and smarter protection for all neighborhoods.

Well-maintained streets, safe neighborhoods, and quality public spaces are key factors in protecting long-term property values. Infrastructure investment is one of the strongest tools cities have to support stable, healthy neighborhoods.

RISE Lauderhill isn’t just funding critical improvements. It’s also creating economic opportunities for the local community. The City of Lauderhill is committed to prioritizing local participation in GO Bond-related projects to help ensure the economic benefits of these investments stay within Lauderhill.
