Approval by City Commission
On December 8, 2025, the Lauderhill City Commission approved Resolution No. 25R-12-240, authorizing a referendum that asked voters whether the City should issue up to $65 million in GO Bonds to fund capital improvement projects throughout Lauderhill. GO bonds are a type of municipal bond that allows local governments, such as the City of Lauderhill, to borrow money for major public projects and repay the debt over time. These bonds enable Lauderhill to begin work on critical improvements sooner, resulting in a quicker delivery with fewer years of inflation risk.
The RISE Lauderhill GO Bond program builds upon the Building Lauderhill Together GO Bond, which was approved by voters on August 30, 2016 to fund improvements to parks, public safety facilities, and roadways. The 2016 bond program supported 30 community-driven projects that were identified by residents in public meetings with the City of Lauderhill. Continuing this commitment to strategic investment and neighborhood revitalization, RISE Lauderhill will fund additional projects focused on enhancing infrastructure throughout the city.
Approval by Voters
The City of Lauderhill hosted multiple Town Hall meetings to educate voters on the RISE Lauderhill GO Bond program, the proposed capital improvement projects, and how these projects will impact their neighborhoods. Additional public outreach was conducted through a variety of communication channels, including flyers, mailers, palm cards, email campaigns, social media, and other informational materials to ensure voters were well informed prior to voting on the referendum.
On March 10, 2026, Lauderhill voters approved the $65 million referendum with more than 70% support to fund:

For roadway improvements
$4.8 million
For infrastructure improvements
$7.3 million
